Artiste céramiste, Valentine Burkhalter explore les infinies possibilités de travail de l’argile. Son monde est celui de la fusion de la matière minérale. De la matière cent pour cent brute trouvée dans le lit d’une rivière, au travail de la porcelaine, argile artificielle composée, son terrain de jeux est vaste. Après un CFC de quatre ans de céramiste dans une galerie et manufacture artisanale, et une maturité artistique, elle ouvre son atelier en 2006 à Vevey. La porcelaine, en raison de sa finesse, sa transparence et sa blancheur, est une matière qu’elle affectionne et travaille depuis dix-sept ans.

Ceramic artist Valentine Burkhalter explores the infinite possibilities of working with clay. Her world is one of fusing mineral matter. From 100% raw material found in riverbeds to working with porcelain, a composite artificial clay, her playground is vast. After completing a four-year apprenticeship as a ceramist in a gallery and artisan workshop, and obtaining an artistic diploma, she opened her own studio in Vevey in 2006. Porcelain, with its finesse, transparency, and whiteness, is a material she has loved and worked with for seventeen years.
